Our initiative

The project is the result of the close cooperation between the Czech School Without Borders in London and the Prague School of Creative Communication (PSCC) in Prague. Our initiative was formed from a desire to explore the stories of Czechoslovak airmen, shedding light on an often-neglected chapter in history.

Our cooperation began when the Czech School Without Borders, London, identified that there was a lack of focus on the stories of Czechoslovak airmen in the curriculum. As a result, they reached out to PSCC students in order to jointly create something that would pique students’ interest into this topic. After some work, PSCC students came up with two fantastic projects – an interactive website and a short documentary film.

The first step

Before we delve into the description of our cooperation, it is necessary to point out that the Czech School without Borders in London has long been dedicated to educating children about the historical events of the Second World War. The first significant project on this topic was created in 2015, when the school created the video material 'Lilacs of Peace'. This material, intended for children aged 5-9, introduces children to the key moments of the Second World War.

Beginning of cooperation and our first meetings

Our collaboration on the project "Czechoslovak pilots in the RAF" began in November 2022. Our first meeting took place remotely via Zoom, where we established the basic requirements for the project. Our goal was to create a product that would be not only educational, but also interactive and interesting for an adolescent target audience.
